Captains Day 2017

Captain’CD64s Day got off to an early start in brilliant weather which lasted throughout the day.  It was a pleasure to greet so many members and enjoy a bit of banter with everyone.

The day continued without a hitch with the refreshments after 10 holes ably served by our Junior Volunteers, they did a great job.

At the end of the field my guests teed off and I know enjoyed their rounds with a select band of our members.  The field was completed when my three professional guests Tony Davies of Padeswood and Buckley GC, Alex Rowland of Hawarden GC and our own Matt Parsley posed with me before driving off.CD71

The golf was completed with our ladies teeing off for a nine hole round, still in brilliant weather.

After all thCD76aat golf it was to relax with a few drinks in the bar, just look at the photos in the gallery to see more.

My day was completed with a great evening.  We were provided with an excellent spread by Nick and were well looked after by Andi, Jane and Louise.  It was a pleasure to thank them along with Matt and Carol for all the organisation, the green staff, Big Dave, Young Dave and the rest of the lads for the preparation of the course, the guys on Match & Handicap for doing the cards and sorting all the results.  Finally my thanks to Tina for supporting me throughout the year and allowing me all the time I need to be here at the club and everywhere else I have to go and play golf.

CD77We continued the evening with the results and presentation of prizes to all the winners who were able to attend, my thanks to them for supporting the presentation and to those who were unable to be here for their apologies and best wishes for a successful evening.

After the presentation we were able to get down to the real celebrating led by ‘Original Replica’ who had many of us on our feet dancing to the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s.

This ends a great day for me, please see the gallery (click on this link PHOTOS) to see my pictures of the day and thanks you all again for your support with it we raised a total of £753.45 for my Captain’s Charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.
